Companies House Board & Management

Companies House is an Executive Agency of The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

The Minister responsible for Companies House is Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise.  Jo Swinson MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs, will be responsible for company law (including Companies House). The agency also has Trading Fund status which allows the agency to directly manage its own finances.

As Accounting Officer for the organisation, the Chief Executive is ultimately responsible to Ministers for the day to day running of the agency. The Chair for Companies House is Brian Landers.

Main Board – meet on a monthly basis and their purpose is to set the direction for Companies House, maintain overall stewardship and governance, and ensure our organisational capacity to deliver for our customers.

Operational Board – also meet on a monthly basis and report to the Main Board at their monthly meeting.  Members monitor the performance of the Agency, tracking performance against targets and progress against deliverables, highlighting any risks, issues, opportunities and achievements.
