Insurance Company Returns have for many years been filed at Companies House under numbers beginning with AC or SA. However, this has been phased out and returns dated after 31st December 2003 will not be received by Companies House. This means that searchers will not be able to obtain those returns from Companies House but will instead need to contact insurance companies directly to obtain copies of returns. Financial Services Authority Rules give anyone the right to request, direct from insurance companies, specified documents that those firms have most recently deposited with the FSA. Insurance companies are obliged to comply with the request within 30 days, but may make a charge to cover their reasonable costs including printing and postage.
