StartUp Britain 
StartUp Britain is a new campaign by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, launched 28 March 2011. Designed to celebrate, inspire and accelerate enterprise in the UK, it has the full support of the Prime Minister, the Chancellor, the Business Secretary and HM Government. Why is it important? Start-ups and small firms are the engine of the economy and will be vital to our recovery. Today, SMEs account for nearly 60% of private sector jobs and around 50% of private sector GVA. StartUp Britain is designed to make it easier for new companies and innovations to flourish and encourage people who aspire to start new businesses to work for themselves. That way, we will ensure that this is the decade of the entrepreneur. |
