What SIC code should I use?

If you are filing your first annual return you will need to choose your SIC code to state your principal business activity. A SIC code (Standard Industrial Classification) is used to classify a company's nature of business or the type of economic activity in which they are engaged. Even if your company is dormant (99999) or non-trading (74990) this still has to be indicated by using the appropriate SIC code.

Companies House adopted the latest version of SIC 2007 on 1 October 2011 and all companies filing their annual return after this date need to supply the latest version of their SIC code.
