Companies House joins the European Business Register

Companies House is pleased to announce that it has recently joined the European Business Register (EBR) as an information provider. In May 2007, following the EBR General Meeting held in Belgium, Companies House formally signed the EBR contract. Companies House is seen as a very significant registry in Europe and the EBR were very keen for us to be involved. Paul Farrell, registrar of companies for Ireland and chairman of the EBR controlling body said:

‘This is a very important moment for EBR and its future. We have always
considered the  absence  of  Companies  House as a serious drawback in our
network. We are very pleased that Companies House has made this decision
and would like to thank them for trusting in EBR as we do’

Companies House will aim to start providing basic company information via the EBR database in Spring 2008. The EBR network makes company information across Europe more accessible, in particular to small and medium size businesses who find it difficult to source this type of information. Customers from around the world can access company information from any of the countries involved in the EBR via the database. The format of the all EBR information is standard so it is easy to compare companies across Europe in a one-stop shop.
