Companies House wins Awards

The British Computer Society Information Management Awards

The British Computer Society Information Management Awards are the premier European recognition of excellence and innovation in the management of business information. They are fiercely contested and highly valued within the IT and business world.

The Companies House eAccounts project team (in partnership with Adobe Systems Europe Ltd) won the Premier Project Award, the “blue riband” Project Award for the best overall Project. This is the supreme accolade from the IT industry, with Companies House gaining industry-wide recognition as being a leader in the field in an open, independent and highly respected Awards scheme recognising innovation and the delivery of real benefits.

In addition the project was Highly Commended (3rd place) in the Business to Business category.

Accountancy Age Awards 2006

Companies House has won the prestigious Accountancy Age Award for the "Best use of the Internet by the Public Sector". This is the first time in the 12 year history of the awards that there has been one for the Internet,and Companies House are the first winners.

The Judges.... "applauded the site for its positive impact on UK business and its performance compared with less effective websites hosted by other public sector bodies. Other public bodies could learn a lot from them."
