Relocation of the London Information Centre – May 2012

Transitional Arrangements

Companies House London will be open for business at its new home from 9.00am on Monday 21 May 2012:

To minimise disruption to our customers, the move will take place over the weekend of 19 to 20 May 2012. 

So that the move can be completed seamlessly, the London office will close its doors to the public at 21 Bloomsbury Street, at 5pm on Friday 18 May 2012.


Transitional arrangements are:

Same Day Processing Services
All applications for same day services will have a cut off point of 11.00am:

  • Company/LLP Incorporation
  • Company/LLP Change of Name
  • Reductions of Capital by Solvency Statement/Court Order
  • Re-registrations
  • SH50

Certified Copy Services
The certified copy service will be unaffected by the office move.

Company Search Facility
The Information Centre Search Systems will be unaffected however, customers may not be able to print search results after 3pm.

Delivery of Documents
The letterbox at 21 Bloomsbury Street will be operational until 11.59pm on Sunday 20 2012.  The mail will be removed and the letterbox will then be sealed.  All deliveries after this time should be sent to the new address.

There is a mail redirect service in place for any documents that may already be in the postal system at the time of the move

Customers should note however, that documents should be directed to the new address from Friday 18 May 2012, as documents sent to the old address after the closure date may not reach us.  

Customers are assured that rigid procedures are in place to guarantee the safe and secure transfer of all documents and paperwork delivered to us prior to the move, to our new offices.


Accounts must be delivered to Companies House on or before the due date. Delays in transit will not be accepted as excuses for late delivery and even if accounts are delivered a day late a penalty will be levied, and penalties may not be waived.

We will be operating ‘Business As Usual’ when we re-open at the new address on Monday 21 May 2012 at 9.00am.
All other Companies House services will be available as usual during the relocation period. 

We can confirm that our telephone numbers remain unchanged.
