WebFiling Dormant Accounts Demo Transcript

TITLE 1 - INTRODUCTION

VOICEOVER: “Welcome to the online filing demo for dormant accounts.

All companies registered at Companies House need to file accounts regardless of whether or not they are trading.  For companies dormant since incorporation the simplest way to file accounts is using the WebFiling service.

This demo is intended as a step-by-step guide only.  So please ensure that when you file your accounts for real you use your actual company’s information and figures.”

Visual effect: Screen fades out.

TITLE 2 - MAIN MENU

Main menu now displays.

Visual effect: The ‘Dormant Company Accounts (DCA) - AA02’ link is highlighted and a cursor appears and clicks it.

VOICEOVER: “Once you have signed - in you will need to select the ‘Dormant Company Accounts’ option on the main menu.”

Visual effect: Screen fades out.

TITLE 3 - ACCOUNTS MADE-UP AND DUE DATE

Confirmation of MUD and Conditions of use is displayed on the screen.

VOICEOVER: “Check that the made-up date of the accounts you are filing matches the made-up date shown.”

Visual effect: Screen zooms in to highlight the made-up date and due date information. Screen then zooms out.

VOICEOVER: “If you need to change this date, simply return to the main menu and select the option ‘Change of accounting reference date’.”

Visual effect: The ‘Conditions of Use’ are highlighted.

VOICEOVER: “If the date is correct, read ‘Conditions of Use’ to ensure your company is eligible to file this accounts type. Then click ‘CONTINUE’.”

Visual effect: The ‘CONTINUE’ button is highlighted and a cursor appears and clicks it.  Screen fades out.

TITLE 4 - BALANCE SHEET

Cut to the balance sheet screen.

VOICEOVER: “The balance sheet is automatically pre-populated with the expected Made-up Date for the accounts.”

Visual effect: The date of the balance sheet is highlighted.

VOICEOVER: “You can now select the required currency and complete the relevant fields.”

Visual effect: The screen scrolls to ‘Select required currency’ and a cursor appears, clicks on the drop down screen and selects ‘GBP - Pound Sterling’

VOICEOVER: “Enter the current and previous years figures.  If your company is submitting its first year accounts only the current period will be displayed.”

Visual effect: The screen zooms in and ‘Called up share capital,’  ‘Cash at bank and in hand’ and ‘Net Assets’ are highlighted.   The figure ‘2’ is entered into ‘Called up share capital not paid’ for both current and previous years.

VOICEOVER:  “Leave the fields blank or enter a ‘0’ if there are no figures available.   Do not enter any other digits or punctuation, such as a dash.”

VOICEOVER: “Net assets will total automatically.”

Visual effect: The screen zooms out.

VOICEOVER: “Additional help can be found by clicking any of the green information icons.”

Visual effect: The cursor points to the ‘?’ information button. The help is displayed then closed.

VOICEOVER: “Now enter details of the number of shares issued.”

Visual effect: ‘2’ is entered in the number of shares.

VOICEOVER: “The type of share (by either typing in your share class or clicking ‘SELECT’ and choosing one from the list).”

Visual effect: A cursor moves to click ‘Select’ from the share class field. Select class of share pop-up window is displayed. The cursor then highlights ‘Ordinary’ and then clicks on the ‘SELECT’ button Ordinary is then displayed in the share class field.

VOICEOVER: “Then enter the ‘Value’.”

Visual effect: ‘1’ is entered as the ‘Value of each share’ and ‘2’ are entered into the fields directly below ‘current’ and ‘previous’ periods.

Visual effect: Screen scrolls down.

VOICEOVER: “To confirm the company is eligible to submit dormant accounts check the statements.”

Visual effect: A cursor ticks the first three statement boxes.

VOICEOVER: “Read the Balance Sheet note and only tick if the company has acted on behalf of someone.”

VOICEOVER: “Enter the date the accounts were approved.”

Visual effect: The ‘Date of approval of accounts’ is highlighted and the date (1/04/2011) is entered. The screen scrolls to the ‘Director’s name’ section.

VOICEOVER: “And provide the name of at least one director.”

Visual effect: The director name update fields are highlighted.

Visual effect: The name ‘Robert Brown’ is typed in the fields.

VOICEOVER: “If you’re happy that all the information is correct, then click ‘VALIDATE AND CONTINUE ’.”

Visual effect: ‘VALIDATE AND CONTINUE’ button is highlighted and the cursor clicks it.  Screen fades out.

TITLE 5 - CONFIRM & SUBMIT DORMANT ACCOUNTS

Visual effect: Cut to the Layout of Dormant Accounts with option to print a copy.

VOICEOVER: “Review the accounts you’ve prepared.  If you need to make corrections then ‘GO BACK’ or if everything is OK select ‘PRINT COPY OF DATA’ for your records.”

Visual effect: The screen scrolls then highlights the ‘GO BACK’ and ‘PRINT COPY OF DATA’ buttons. The cursor then appears and clicks the ‘confirm and submit button’.

VOICEOVER: “and then click ‘CONFIRM AND SUBMIT’.”

Visual effect: The screen fades out.

TITLE 6 - CONFIRMATION

Visual effect: Cut to Image of Confirmation Screen. The screen zooms in to highlight the ‘Submission Number.’

VOICEOVER: “Make a note of the ‘Submission Number’ in case you have a query.”

Visual effect: The screen zooms out.

VOICEOVER “You will then receive two emails.  The first to inform that the accounts have been received and a second to say that they have been ‘accepted’ or ‘rejected’.”

VOICEOVER “That’s it, you can now log-out.”

Visual effect: Screen fades out
