Changes to the WebFiling ServiceCompanies House has implemented changes to WebFiling and the Web Incorporation Service from 4 February 2012. Improvements include:
‘My Recent Filings’ (formerly View Data Submitted), is an area where you can view and download the information you have submitted to Companies House via the WebFiling and Web Incorporation service. You can also track and view the status of submissions. In ‘My Recent Filings’, documents can be viewed as PDFs and only require you to sign in using your email address and security code. New functionality allows you to also re-attempt a payment if during the submission process a problem occurs or the payment has failed, e.g. internet problems at the point of paying for the Annual Return. To access ‘My Recent Filings’ just select the option from the top left of the screen. This will display the ‘My Recent Filings’ screen wherethestatus of the information can be monitored, and by selecting the link a PDF can be displayed. My Recent Filings - Status Meanings The Status options that could appear in the ‘My Recent Filings’ are explained below: Failed Payments If there have been internet problems and you know that a payment has not been made, then you can re-attempt payment straight away by going to ‘My Recent Filings’. However if you have already entered your card details, but a problem occurs later with the payment, the status of the submission will change to Failed Payment after 1 hour. Where a payment has failed, the ‘Sign In Choose Your Company’ screen will display an incomplete payment(s) message. The message indicates that the payment accompanying a document submission has failed. Until payment is received this document will not be processed. Note: In addition you will also receive an email from Companies House informing you that payment has not been received for the transaction. My Recent Filings - Re-attempt Payment If you have encountered a failed payment, you can select the ‘View Incomplete Payments’ button in the yellow box on the sign in screen, or ‘My Recent Filings’ in the top left toolbar. The ‘My Recent Filings’ screen is displayed and the status of the submission can be viewed. A re-attempt payment button is displayed at the end of the transaction in the ‘Options’ column. The ‘Re-attempt Payment’ button will take you to the WebFiling Payment screen where you can re-attempt payment for the transaction by either credit/debit card, PayPal or credit account, and where successful you will receive a confirmation email. When you return to ‘My Recent Filings’, the screen will show the transaction and you can select the link to open a PDF of the information filed. Note: Our systems may be processing the information, so the status may not have changed at that point. The ‘Refresh’ button will update the status and display any waiting transactions. The WebFiling Help and Support is available at the top right corner of all the WebFiling screens. The new style Help is designed to make it easier for you to find the information you need. Top right ‘Topic’ links allow you to direct to specific Help sections, plus the addition of a search box allows specific words to be input and found, without the need to scroll through the main text. The main Help text is displayed in the middle of the screen which can be scrolled. Throughout the Help certain key words are available as links and when selected a box will appear underneath with an additional explanation. WebFiling Authentication Code Reminder The Registered Office Address has been moved to the confirmation screen enabling you to check that the address is up to date before selecting ‘confirm’. Improved Error and Warning Messages Improved WebFiling error and warning messages will be displayed at the point of the problem and highlighted with a shaded box. Information - Relevant screen information will be displayed in Blue: alerts you to on screen information, but will allow you to continue or submit. Warning Message - Warnings will be displayed in Yellow: alerts you to the message but will allow you to continue or submit. Error Message - An Error will be displayed in Red: alerts you to on screen problems, and until information has been entered or corrected will prevent you from continuing. Web Incorporation - Prescribed Particulars The Web Incorporation Capital screen will display an example to assist in supplying the Prescribed Particulars; the text box will be populated with a basic example. The company needs to ensure this is appropriate to the company, and if required alternative text can be input by clicking into the text box and editing the example. The screen also displays additional Notes on the right of the screen explaining prescribed particulars. |
